As the country gears up towards the August 9, 2022 general election in Kenya, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission preparedness towards delivering free, fair, verifiable and credible Elections is Key.
One of the factors that determines the preparedness and readiness of the Commission is the availability of funding that would enable it run its day to day activities and procure the necessary materials for facilitating the elections.
On Thursday, 7 April, 2022, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission was allocated a further 21.7 Billion by the Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani which is way below the 40.9 billion the commission has been requesting for it to deliver a credible poll in August 9, 2022.
